I — Stand in the First Light

Embrace.

We did not come when the veil broke, we were already here. Amongst the mortals and those condemned, labeled as "Supernatural's." We have always been here, watching humanity stumble through centuries of war, love, and ruin. Convinced they were alone in this massive world. The veil was never meant to protect humans from monsters, it was meant to protect the world from imbalance. To keep the supernatural plague contained, hidden, and controlled.

And for a time, it worked. Then Pride challenged the order. Demons have always been hungry, devouring power, weakness, and twisting souls. But Pride, he was something worse than hunger. He was certainty. He believed domination was destiny, that secrecy was weakness. That the world belonged to those strong enough to take it. And for the first time in ages, we were forced to act. Not because we cared for cities. Not because we mourned buildings turned to ash. But because the war threatened the fabric of existence itself.

And like that the veil strained. Reality buckled and the world groaned beneath magic and infernal force clashing without any restraint. And still, the world would have ended...If not for that one human woman. It is bitter, in a way. Not resentment, but recognition. Celestials and Infernal like to pretend we are the architects of fate. But that day proved what we have always known, deep beneath the pride of our own kind, Mortals are unpredictable. That is why they matter.

Now the veil is gone, and the supernatural no longer hide. Humanity looks up at the sky, and some see too much. And yet we remain, not as saviors, but as wardens of a fragile balance that grows thinner every year. We do not rule, we do not conquer...we correct. And if the world must burn again to prevent something worse...Then so be it.

II — The Nature of Grace

Celestial power does not come from domination it comes from Grace. Grace is the counterforce to Sin, where Sin consumes, Grace stabilizes.

Grace manifests through divine virtues:

  • Humility

  • Justice

  • Compassion

  • Temperance

  • Patience

  • Charity

  • Purpose

Every Angel channels at least one virtue. The strongest embody several. But excess virtue without wisdom becomes rigidity. Grace is balance. Unchecked righteousness becomes tyranny. Even Heaven must remember this.

III — The Three Celestial Orders

Each Angel belongs to one of three sacred Orders. Each Order preserves a pillar of existence. Overlap exists, but their purposes remain distinct. (You can pick which one you want to start with, do not have to follow the core virtues)

☀ Celestials of Life — The Dawnbringers

Core Virtues:

  • Compassion

  • Purpose

  • Charity

Life is the first breath of the cosmos. Dawnbringers nurture beginnings.

They mend what has been broken. They guide mortals toward growth. They cultivate the possibility of redemption. They are healers, shepherds, and quiet guardians. Where Infernal exploit weakness, Dawnbringers restore strength to those around them.

The act of giving without expectation. They inspire generosity and unity among mortals. Entire civilizations have risen under their quiet influence.

Even compassion must know when to step aside.

⚖ Celestials of Justice — The Scales of Heaven

Core Virtues:

  • Justice

  • Humility

  • Temperance

Justice Celestials do not create laws. They enforce cosmic balance. They observe, judge, and intervene when corruption threatens the fabric of existence. They are investigators, strategists, and executioners when necessary.

Power must be restrained. Justice Angels embody discipline. They intervene only when balance demands it.

Heaven has fallen into error before. Justice must always remember compassion.

☁ Celestials of Death — The Final Veil

Core Virtues:

  • Purpose
  • Patience
  • Compassion

Death is not destruction, It is transition. The Celestials of the Final Veil guide souls between states of existence. They close stories with dignity, prevent unnatural distortion of life and death. They are quiet, patient and often misunderstood.
The Final Veil teaches that endings are necessary for renewal, comforting the dying and silence the restless dead

Too much acceptance can resemble indifference. Even death must remember life.

VI — Angelic Oath's

(Oaths will not be available until month 2, as people need to meet others and get settled into the city. Pacts will be available once you hit your first Progression. You will be able to maintain 1 contract and add(+1) as you progress.)

Oaths are made between Celestial beings and other races, some may not be able to form oaths based on what they are. In a sense this is giving your soul, life force, etc to the Celestial in exchange for favors, help, power etc. In order for an oath to be made both the Celestial and the person signing the oath must have progressed at least once in their given class. Oaths do come with downsides. WARNING: IF YOU SIGN AN OATH, YOU ARE ENTERING A CONTRACT WITH A PERMACLAUSE.

  • Your race may question you for an oath with celestial force's.

  • If the oath is broken, you will lose the powers bestowed upon you and/or anything else offered. (This can vary from celestial to celestial)

VII — Celestial Weaknesses

Each virtue has its own counterforce and should be humbly balanced in life. We weaken when our virtue is not balanced. We can over believe and lose our

Humility → Pride
Justice → Corruption
Compassion → Cruelty
Temperance → Indulgence
Patience → Wrath
Charity → Greed

Purpose → Apathy

Weaknesses

  • Prolonged exposure to infernal energy weakens their abilities over time

  • Acting against their divine purpose causes instability and loss of power

  • Overuse of abilities leads to exhaustion and reduced effectiveness

  • Strong emotional attachment can cloud judgment and weaken resolve

  • True names can be invoked to restrict or disrupt their power if known

VIII — Do's and Don'ts

Do

  • Regenerate over time and withstand severe damage, though can be weakened, restrained, or killed under extreme conditions.

  • Sense corruption, sin, fractured souls, demonic presence, and disturbances in balance.

  • Influence mortals through guidance, calm presence, inspiration, or emotional clarity - not control.

  • Purify corruption or stabilize damaged souls.

  • Act within their assigned domain (Life, Justice, Death) with enhanced effectiveness.

  • Resist corruption, possession, and mental manipulation.

  • Endure limited infernal presence, though it causes strain or discomfort.

  • Imbue objects with divine energy (protection, clarity, minor healing effects).

  • Perform Major TOTM healing (missing limbs, deep wounds, broken bones).

  • Temporarily suppress weaker demonic abilities through presence alone.

  • Form non-binding guidance bonds with mortals (no ownership or control).

  • Operate with heightened awareness in areas of imbalance or conflict.

Don't

  • Mind control or override a mortal’s free will

  • Possession

  • Create illusions or false realities

  • Interfere excessively in mortal affairs without justification

  • Act purely out of personal emotion (rage, revenge, bias)

  • Form soul-binding contracts or claim ownership over souls

  • Abuse divine power for personal gain

  • Ignore their domain or act outside their purpose without consequence

IX — Roleplay Philosophy

“Purpose Above Self”

Balance must be maintained, not forced. Celestials guide, they do not control.
Mortals must choose their own path, since Free will is sacred even when it leads to suffering.
Emotion is acknowledged but not obeyed. Feelings exist, but they do not override duty.
Power is responsibility, not entitlement. Every action must serve a greater purpose.

How Angels Should Be Played

  • Speak with intent and calm authority, not aggression
  • Act with restraint and thought, not impulse
  • Influence situations subtly rather than forcing outcomes
  • Value long-term balance over short-term victories
  • Accept that not every situation can or should be “fixed”

You are here to build story, not win encounters
You influence - you do not control outcomes
Every action should create reaction and opportunity
Power is shown through restraint, not dominance

“Good roleplay is not about what your character can do

it’s about what your character chooses not to do.”

X — Final Record

You are not purity. You are responsibility.

You are the light that nurtures life. The scale that weighs truth. The veil that closes the final chapter. You do not exist to rule mortals. You exist to protect the balance that allows them to choose. Grace does not demand obedience, it offers guidance. And sometimes the greatest act of Celestial beings is simply allowing the world to decide its own fate.
